ITTF Accountant

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), founded in 1926, is the world-governing body of the sport of table tennis with 227 member Associations in the world. The ITTF supervises the staging of World Championships annually, and several other world title events. Around 120 international tournaments are sanctioned by the ITTF yearly. Its main function is to govern and develop the sport for the benefit of over thirty million competitive players in all parts of the world.

Table Tennis is in the programme of the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as of all Multisport Games.

The ITTF is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Accountant who has good business acumen and will be responsible for the spectrum of operational tasks and projects under the ITTF Finance department.

LOCATION: The position will be based in the ITTF Asia-Pacific offices in Singapore.

MANAGER: The ITTF Accountant will report into the head of the Finance team.

DUTIES:

Financial Reporting

• Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports such as the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement and respective balance sheet schedules
• Ensuring the month-end accounts are closed promptly
• Support with transitioning to International Financial Reporting Standards

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in the creation and monitoring of budgets
• Prepare forecasting reports comparing budgets vs actuals

Audit Support

• Prepare financial statements for audit purpose
• Liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation

Bookkeeping

• Recording financial transactions
• Processing payments, and completing bank reconciliations
• Managing full set accounts
• Ensure oversight, and correct reconciliation of intercompany, and inter-related company transactions
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, and ensure depreciation and amortisation are correctly calculated
• Work closely with other departments to address queries related to events

Risk & Compliance

• Prepare and file tax returns, such as VAT(Switzerland), GST (Singapore)
• Liaise with tax agents for annual tax filings
• Support the implementation of Internal Control Systems
• Ensure effective risk management techniques are implemented, and offer proactive advice on possible financial issues

Other

• To undertake all other tasks, as may reasonably be delegated, by ITTF Management.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Candidates for the position of ITTF Accountant should have and demonstrate:

Essential Criteria

• Minimum Degree in Accountancy;
• 2 (two) to 3 (three) years of relevant accounting / audit experience;
• Sound knowledge of accounting and reporting standards;
• Experience with Xero accounting software would be advantageous;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in MS Excel;
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills;
• Analytical, meticulous with a keen eye for numbers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and with different teams
