Role Overview

We are looking for a full-time Lead Backend Software Engineer to help architect, build, and scale the core technology behind a modern ecommerce platform designed for premium customer experiences.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is deeply effective, highly motivated, and excited by the opportunity to build something exceptional from an early stage. You should be the kind of engineer who moves fast without being reckless, cares about quality without getting stuck in perfectionism, and can turn ambiguous business goals into reliable, scalable systems.

You will lead backend development across cloud infrastructure, APIs, data architecture, integrations, automation, and operational tooling. Our technology direction is centered on the Google Cloud ecosystem, and we are looking for someone who can use modern cloud-native tools intelligently while keeping the engineering approach practical, secure, and maintainable.

What You’ll Do

You will design and build the backend systems that power our ecommerce, content, automation, and customer experience capabilities. You will make important architectural decisions, establish engineering standards, and help create a backend foundation that can support rapid product development as the company grows.

You will work closely with product, design, frontend, hardware, and leadership teams to translate ambitious ideas into production-ready systems. You will also help shape how the engineering team works: using AI-assisted development, automated testing, continuous delivery, observability, documentation, and tight feedback loops to create a fast, modern, high-quality development process.

This role is not about checking boxes on a long list of frameworks or languages. It is about judgment, ownership, technical taste, and execution.
