Job Description - Revenue & Working Capital Manager (HK)

Job Purpose

The Revenue & Working Capital Manager is responsible for leading the billing and collection functions of the Hong Kong (HK) office. The individual will be responsible for all aspects of billing and debt collection and will also support operational improvements in the function whilst working closely with HK management and senior Finance team members to achieve financial targets.

This role is based out of the HFW HK office reporting to Senior Finance Manager (HK) and Head of Finance (Asia).

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee all aspects of the billing function in HK, including the raising of bills and credit notes, write-offs and WIP management in accordance with monthly deadlines.

· Ensure compliance with the Firm's billing, WIP, credit policies and with the HK Solicitors' Accounts Rules.

· Manage the team effectively, ensuring that they have the necessary technical and interpersonal skills to perform their roles effectively and efficiently.

· Configure billing and debt collection processes on Elite 3E to improve productivity and services.

· Manage accounts receivable, all-round credit control and review, including China related debts

· Specify and facilitate production of ad hoc reports as required.

· Provide support and guidance to partners, senior management and matter teams with complex bills and, where required, correspond and meet with clients to rectify debt/billing issues, negotiate payment plans and resolve any conflicts.

· Organise and manage the regular review of partners' i) WIP for the purpose of ensuring that billing opportunities are identified, actioned and maximised; ii) debt is regularly chased for collection; and iii) client monies are attended to in accordance with SRA rules.

· Ensure fee earner time is promptly recorded to enable the WIP to be billed.

· Provide training to new members of the HK team as and when required.

· Any other ad hoc duties as may be required.

Key Skills & Experience Required

· A minimum of 8 years' revenue and working capital management experience within an international legal partnership or professional services environment.

· A team player with a minimum of 3 years' experience of leading a team and managing workloads.

· Experience of working collaboratively with matter teams and a proven ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders across the firm.

· Fluent in Mandarin, both spoken and written

· A positive, "can-do" attitude who takes ownership of issues and is driven to find tailored solutions.

· A thorough understanding of SRA Accounts Rules and best practice techniques for managing the billing cycle.

· IT literate, with exposure to Excel and Elite 3E practice management system.

· Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills; professional and approachable but firm, especially when interacting with Partners and other senior stakeholders.

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills

· A strong customer service ethos

· Emotional intelligence and able to appreciate clients (internal and external) circumstances, priorities and timelines.

· A highly organised approach to work and strong attention to detail.

Salary Range

HKD$35,000 to HKD$60,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
