SENIOR PROCUREMENT MANAGER

We are representing our client (a precision engineering company) to look for an agile self-starter who is also a proactive and results-oriented player. One who is comfortable operating in a fluid environment and has learning agility to build future capabilities. The successful candidate will lead the procurement process from sourcing suppliers to negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. He/she will play a critical role in optimizing costs, improving supplier relationships, and driving operational efficiency within the organisation to support the business growth.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement direct and indirect procurement strategies to meet the organisation's needs and objectives on a group level.
• Identify and source reliable suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and negotiate favourable terms and contracts according to company’s standard.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements and provide strategic guidance and support.
• Manage procurement process, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoice and payment processing.
• Manage procurement budget and ensure compliance with company’s policies and procedures as well as regulations.
• Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
• Shared objectives with Supply Chain on fulfilling customers’ order, managing inventory and obsolescence level.
• Allocate about 20-30% time to support a sister company in Singapore for 6-9 months (subject to change based on business needs).

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a proven track record of success.
• Experience in APAC/China regional sourcing is crucial.
• Familiar with precision machining processes and the materials commonly used in these processes
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Solid understanding of procurement best practices, regulations, and industry trends.
• Experience with procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, e-procurement platforms).
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to build a team in future to grow with the business in the region.
• Certification in procurement or supply chain management is an advantage.
