Senior/Engineer, Mechanical Design (Precision Robotics)

Job Responsibilities

1. Perform system testing, evaluation and commissioning of closed-loop motion control and robotic systems

2. Integrate robotics arm, grippers, end effectors, sensors, automation products and platforms for customised application solutions according to customer requirements

3. Provide technical support for product range including motion controllers, PLC, HMI, motor drives, DDT motors and actuators, encoders and robotic arms.

4. Provide technical support for DDT related R&D

5. Preparation of BOM, cable drawings and wiring diagrams necessary for in-house and external projects

6. To design customised precision stages, gantries, actuator modules from 3D conceptual to detailed mechanical drawings using SolidWorks.

7. Review mechanical design and upkeep of all mechanical drawings, BOM and technical documentations

8. Release of official BOM and part drawings for purpose of cost analysis

9. To provide engineering support to Production and NPI team for new mechanical systems

People Requirements

• Degree in Mechatronics or mechanical engineering or equivalent
• At least 3 years of working experience in precision engineering design and automation systems. Familiar with both product and solution design for moving systems.
• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design drawings using SolidWorks
• Knowledgeable in design and assembly of precision sub-assemblies. Able to self-assess parameters like machining tolerances to meet rapid turnaround time for customer proposals.
• Technically competent in all stage, gantry design
• Responsible and able to handle work professionally, independently and efficiently
