Technical Manager (M&E)

Responsibilities:

• Lead and motivate a team of engineers, internal consultants, external consultants, and construction team in the compliance delivery of a design & build project for upgrading the critical infrastructure of a data centre facility with MOP/SOP procedures well prepared and work phases planned in order to achieve the design specification requirement.
• Lead in the technical preparation and work closely with estimating team for the finalization of competitive bids for tender submissions.
• Confident to present on the M&E components in a tender submission presentation.
• Able to spearhead modular MEP and digital approach to M&E scopes
• Build strong and competent E&M technical resources /teams to independently manage design on projects
• Develop & execute a design with good understanding of condenser water piping systems and data centre facility upgrades with compliance to the client’s particular design requirement.
• Drive collaborative partnerships with the client, consultants and trade partners teams to identifying improvements, potential design shortcomings with mitigation measures, and value engineering exercises within the project completion period.
• Schedule and lead weekly design coordination meetings with the client, internal engineers, external consultants and the supply chain to address design issues, achieve milestones and escalate as required.
• Lead, record, and coordinate the change request on design requirement throughout project with commercial teams for claims, submissions, entitlements, variations and any other arising issues.
• Maintaining thorough documentation of the design process, design drawings, and any other documentation for access to necessary stakeholders with an effective communication channel.
• Carry out periodical review on changes of authority building legislation and codes of practice relating to design requirements.
• Review designs with Design for Safety (DfS) & Design for Maintainability (DfM).

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, recognized by Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore
• At least 10 years of project lead experience in which minimum of 5 years professional experience in data center or mission critical facility design with basic multidisciplinary knowledge of mission critical systems, design process, preconstruction requirements and the construction process.
• Understanding of local code compliance on URA, BCA, FSSD, PUB, NEA, NPark, and LTA.
• Excellent team spirit, good interpersonal skills and a “can-do” attitude.
• Strong business acumen with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
• Mindset to work in a digital environment.
• An awareness of sustainability initiatives in construction.
