Lead Mechanical Engineer - Part-Time

For an upcoming drilling rig construction and reactivation project in Singapore, Peak Ocean is assembling an owner-side PMT. We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to serve as a Client Representative in this role.

The Role: PMT Leadership — Mechanical Division

As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Engineering Manager. Your mission is to hold final technical authority over the mechanical division scope, ensuring the shipyard's fabrication, installation, and commissioning handover is delivered safely, to specification, and on schedule.

• Serve as the ultimate technical authority for the PMT's mechanical division.
• Manage the technical interface between Peak Ocean, the Engineering Manager, vendors, and classification societies (DNV/ABS).
• Lead the review and sign-off of major modifications, critical Technical Queries (TQs), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and system commissioning handover packages.
• Manage and mentor the Senior and Mechanical Engineers on site.
• Hold final accountability for the mechanical division's contribution to on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Coordinate with the Asset Readiness Lead on mechanical inputs to the critical spares list and two year spares list.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Deep technical knowledge of specialized drilling systems (BOPs, top drives, drawworks, mud pumps, choke/kill manifolds, marine riser systems).
• Comprehensive understanding of API standards and Classification Society rules (ABS/DNV).
• Minimum 12+ years of experience in offshore/marine construction or fabrication.
• Minimum 5+ years of PMT / Client Representative experience leading teams.
• Excellent command and with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
