Construction Manager: Building Project

Location: Potchefstroom, North West
Contract duration: 8 months
Working arrangement: Site-based

ProjectLink is looking for an experienced Construction Manager for an eight-month building project in Potchefstroom.

The role requires someone who can take control of day-to-day construction activities, coordinate contractors and keep the work progressing safely and according to programme, quality standards and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate daily construction activities on site
• Monitor progress against the approved construction programme
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
• Ensure that work is completed according to approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements
• Identify construction risks, delays and site constraints early
• Drive corrective actions and follow outstanding matters through to completion
• Monitor labour, materials, equipment and site productivity
• Facilitate site meetings and maintain clear action registers
• Prepare construction progress reports and provide updates to project stakeholders
• Manage defects, snag lists and corrective work
• Support project handover and close-out
• Promote compliance with all site safety, quality and environmental requirements

Minimum requirements

• At least six years of relevant construction management experience
• Professional registration with the SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Manager (PrCM)
• Proven experience managing building construction projects
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary contractors and site activities
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and programmes
• Strong site leadership, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills
• Availability to work in Potchefstroom for the full eight-month contract
