Job Description - Fractional General Manager / Head of Operations & People

An established SME is looking to appoint a part -time Senior General Manager / Operations Lead to take full day -to -day control of the business. This is a hands -on operational role, reporting directly to the owner, and not a CEO or entry -level management position. Fractional or interim (3 days per week) for a 3 -month fixed term contract.

Responsibilities:

Run daily operations independently

Be the first escalation point for staff, HR, and operational issues

Manage line managers and sales execution

Protect margins, delivery timelines, and operational discipline

Reduce owner involvement to strategic oversight only

Requirements

10+ years' senior operational leadership in SMEs
Strong background in operations, logistics, production, distribution, or FMCG -support environments
Comfortable making decisions without owner involvement
Calm under pressure, not emotionally needy, not consensus -driven
Proven people -management and conflict -handling experience

Benefits
