Job Description - IM/IT Applications Support Analyst - SHE Applications




Job Summary

 

Behind every great system is a greater Support Analyst.   Ready to be that person?  Join us as we are seeking a motivated Application Support Analyst to join our team.  In this role, you will be responsible for the functional support, optimisation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of key business-critical applications within the Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) domain.   These include systems such as Enablon (SHE Risk & Compliance), Qmed (Occupational Health), Work Execution Platform (WEP), and Passport 360 (Contractor Management). 

This role ensures stability, efficiency, and compliance of applications with business, regulatory, and legal requirements.  The Analyst contributes to service delivery aligned with ITIL Processes, participates in application rationalisation efforts, and collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to deliver enhancements, manage demand, and support projects.






Requirements

Your responsibilities may include:

 

Application Support & Maintenance

·        Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for SHE applications, including Enablon, Qmed, WEP and Passport 360.

·        Investigate and resolve application incidents and service requests in line with SLA’s.

·        Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of recurring issues.

·        Manage routine upgrades, patches, and system health in collaboration with Vendors.

·        Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, configuration records, and support runbooks.





System Optimisation & Enhancements

·        Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation, automation, and process improvement.

·        Support configuration and enhancement requests (e.g. Enablon dashboards, WEP workflows)

·        Assist in integrating data between applications (e.g. syncing Qmed medical data with WEP access rules).

·        Collaborate with business users and Vendors to deliver new features and validate patch releases.





Application Rationalisation

·        Assess the SHE application landscape to identify overlap, duplication, and consolidation opportunities

·        Support the transition from legacy systems to strategic platforms such as Enablon and WEP.

·        Assist in migration planning, business case development, and change management activities.

Project & Demand Management

·        Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and vendors to support new implementations or enhancements.

·        Participate in all lifecycle phases:   requirements gathering, testing, deployment, training, and post-implementation review.

·        Maintain a demand register and contribute to prioritisation processes aligned with IM governance.





ITIL-Based Service Management

·        Manage Incidents, changes, and service requests via the enterprise ITSM platform (e.g. ServiceNow).

·        Adhere to ITIL-aligned practices for change, release, and problem management.

·        Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and contribute to permanent fixes for recurring issues.





Stakeholder Engagement

·        Engage with SHE, Health, HR, Security, and Contractor Management stakeholders to ensure applications meet evolving business needs.

·        Serve as a point of contact for training, user support, and system enhancement queries.

·        Foster strong collaboration between business teams, IT, and external service providers.





Attributes we are looking for: 

·        Experience with system integration (e.g. REST APIs, middleware platforms).

·        Familiarity with Enablon or similar EHS platforms.

·        Exposure to application rationalisation and cloud-based SHE Systems.

·        Understanding of SHE compliance and regulatory frameworks in an industrial or mining context.

·        Experience in Agile or Waterfall Project environments.

·        Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.

·        Effective communicator across technical and non-technical audiences.

·        Attention to detail, particularly in compliance and safety-critical environments.

·        Ability to manage competing priorities independently across multiple applications.

·        Proficient in structured documentation and change control processes.

·        Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and service delivery.





Education:

·         Completed Grade 12.

·         Tertiary Qualification in IT or related fields, BTech or BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

 

Experience:

 

·         5 years of relevant application support experience.
