Job Description - Logistics & Events Coordinator

A well-established organisation in the environmental and development sector is seeking a Logistics & Events Coordinator​ for a hybrid, 6-month fixed-term contract. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful, sustainability-focused work across Southern Africa. The role can be based in Rondebosch, Cape Town, OR Lonehill, Johannesburg.

As a key support to the project team, you'll manage logistics for workshops, field missions and meetings, while providing administrative and procurement support. This position would suit someone with a proactive approach, strong organisational skills and a background in logistics or event coordination within a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.

We particularly encourage applications from candidates who are detail-oriented, responsive and able to manage multiple priorities with confidence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate logistics for project events including meetings, workshops and field missions

  • Arrange travel, accommodation and itineraries for project staff and stakeholders

  • Provide administrative support to the Project Director, including scheduling and documentation

  • Assist with procurement tasks, including gathering quotes, processing requests and liaising with finance

  • Maintain organised filing systems and ensure timely communication across teams

  • Serve as a liaison with partner organisations and service providers



Requirements


  • A diploma or degree in administration, project management, event coordination or a related field

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, ideally in the development, non-profit or conservation sectors

  • Proven ability to manage events and travel logistics

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom or Teams)

  • Familiar with procurement or finance systems would be advantageous
