Job Description - Money Market Assistant

A well-established, client-focused trust and investment management firm is seeking a Money Market Assistant for a temporary maternity cover role, running from mid-September 2025 to March 2026. This role is primarily responsible for handling daily investment and client accounting transactions with a high level of accuracy and timeliness. In addition to operational duties, the position involves delivering excellent client service and ensuring that all activities are conducted in line with internal compliance policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar financial services environment, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and distribute daily call sheets for each Trust Officer.
  • Compile and update the daily rates sheet and relevant statistical data.
  • Collate retail rates, capture and submit data for publication.
  • Distribute fixed deposit maturity reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Accurately capture daily data on the FORTRESS Custody System and ensure daily balancing.
  • Conduct data integrity checks, particularly for weekend and month-end processing.
  • Update client information on DOCFOX and manage new client onboarding to PTC, including compliance clearance checks.
  • Distribute monthly client statements timeously.
  • Process and file documentation related to fixed deposits and daily bank confirmations.
  • Manage year-end filing and ensure proper archiving of controlled documents.
  • Assist clients with queries and requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Print client statements and IT3B certificates on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Coordinate and manage system enhancements on the FORTRESS Custody System in collaboration with the STT IT team.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to team members, including client-specific reconciliations.
  • Perform general office administrative duties to support smooth departmental operations.



Requirements

  • Completed financial qualification
  • Matric with Mathematics and/or Accounting as a subject.
  • Strong computer literacy essential, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Prior experience in a similar administrative or financial function is preferred.
  • Experience with complex reconciliations and/or bookkeeping will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to multitask are essential for success in this role.
