Accountant

We are recruiting for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join a dynamic finance team on a fixed-term contract of 3 - 6 months. This hybrid role offers micro flexibility, with the option to work both remotely and from an office based in either Cape Town or Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting principles and will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and contributing to the overall efficiency of financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present accurate monthly management accounts.
  

• Support quarterly budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with multiple departments.
  

• Manage VAT calculations and submissions across South Africa and the MENA region.
  

• Oversee the annual audit process, including preparation and liaison with auditors.
  

• Ensure full compliance with income tax requirements.
  

• Monitor and forecast cash flow across multiple subsidiaries.
  

• Provide guidance to junior finance and admin staff.
  

• Lead or contribute to financial process and system improvement projects.
  

Requirements

• BCom or BBusSci with a postgraduate diploma or Honours in Accounting (required).
  

• CA(SA), CIMA, or ACCA qualification (advantageous).
  

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance role or 3 years of articles plus 2 years post-articles experience.
  

• Solid understanding of IFRS and compliance requirements.
  

• Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with ERP systems like NetSuite, SAGE, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
