Finance Manager/General Manager

Job Description

An established technology company requires an experienced Finance Manager to join their team. This is a full time position with hybrid day options and flexiblity within some core hours.  

Salary R30 000 - R35 000 CTC.  You will report to executive management and be responsible for providing timely, accurate and reliable financial information. 

• Financial / Management Accounting
• Perform the full accounting function of the company in Dear/Xero including oversight of debtors and creditors functions
• Produce monthly management accounts and ensure accuracy before presenting same to the stakeholders/investors
• Manage the cash flow of the company closely, as well as banking and payment functions.
• Assist the directors with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting, and report against these
• Full payroll function of the company. This includes all statutory reporting and deadlines both monthly and annually. Ensure statutory requirements are met accurately and on time (VAT, PAYE) 
• Oversight of annual audit and ensuring a clean audit report
• Trade finance management and reconciliation
• Imports and forex management
• Balance sheet management
• Company expense management
  

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Accounting degree or similar
  
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles
  
• Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications
  
• Experience on Dear/Xero would be an advantage
  
• Knowledge of financial regulations
  
• Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
  
• Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal)
  
• Computer literate (proficiency in Excel, numerous accounting packages)
  
• Analytical thinker and strong personality
  
• Deadline driven and attention to detail
  
• Strong time management skills
  
• 5 -8 years’ experience in managing the finance function in a medium-sized company
  
• Intermediate computer literacy in Ms Office, and MS Excel skills
  
• Able to work in a full paperless environment
  
• Advanced financial accounting and numerical skills
• Knowledge of how to budget. enforce cost control principles and general finance and accounting principles
• Full understanding of financial regulations
