SUMMARY:
A lifestyle estate in Ballito is looking for a Head of Department for the Finance Department, to manage day-to-day financial operations ensuring sound accounting policies and practices are applied consistently across the function.
POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS
A relevant degree in Finance /Accounting
Post graduate degree is advantageous
CIMA/ CA is advantageous
A minimum of 5 years proven Financial Management experience, preferably in a Homeowners association/Estate Management environment.
Proven track record of running a finance department DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO:
Divisional strategic and operational plans, policies and procedures – development, presentation and implementation
Prepare annual operating budgets and capital expenditure budgets to present to the board
Staff management – ensure job descriptions, duties, etc. are communicated to staff
Monitor and report accurately and timeously on the implementation of financial plans/budgets on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Preparation of management reports for review by Board
Manage financial operations - Management of debtor and creditor accounts (age analysis, bad debts, handovers, etc.), verify payments, manage all bank and investment accounts, recons, liaise with attorneys on transfers, asset register
Review sale agreement and transfer documents, issue levy clearance certificates. Facilitate signing of consents to transfer
Management procurement as per planned budgets.
Review and approve payments to creditors in terms of approved orders
Manage submission of all applicable regulatory and statutory requirements.
VAT and EE requirements submission, CSOS submissions
Facilitate the audit process
Stakeholder/SLA management
Oversee the tender process for all Departments.
Conduct regular meetings to identify areas of improvement or to highlight areas of non-compliance to ensure it is managed proactively.
Risk and Compliance management
Reporting - Attend all relevant committee meetings, monthly and yearly financial and variation reporting
Prepare and consolidate annual budgets for the company.
Prepare the AGM finance information on a presentation and present to the membership
People Management – Manage KPI’s, conducting appraisals, managing internal issues, assessment reports
