Main purpose of position

Senior account manager will manage a portfolio of accounts and are responsible for building strong client relationships, developing account management strategies, coordinating with internal teams to deliver solutions that meet the clients needs and identifying opportunities to grow accounts

Account Management

  • Devising insight led below the line activations strategies that increase the client’s market share.
  • Receiving, unwrapping and running end to end with client briefs and presenting way forward to client and internal agency
  • Overseeing the execution of campaigns and reporting back to clients on a regular/daily basis on effectiveness.
  • Identifying opportunities to develop accounts networking internally to build relationships with other divisions/brands.
  • Project Management across the key BTL chains: In store activities, Events, Wet/Dry Demo sampling, road shows, mall forecourt activations, outdoor activations, office park activations and tradeshows
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients within the allocated accounts
  • Communicate client needs and demands to employer company
  • Identify opportunities to grow the business with existing clients
  • Managing accounts of all sizes by representing your team externally with clients and internally by working with direct reports and supporting positions
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the clients’ position in the market, their product/service, points of difference and competitive landscape
  • Establishing and build strong working relationships with business leaders at all levels
  • Manage day-to-day client communication and on-going relationships as it relates to current, new and upcoming projects
  • Source costing, build quotes for all projects, campaigns and activations in your respective portfolio
  • Management of all suppliers and stakeholders across projects and campaigns
  • Essential understanding of the production of branding, clothing and gifting environment
  • Collaborating with various above the line agencies to come up with jaw-dropping campaigns
  • Development of experiential and creative marketing ideas and presentations in line with the client brief.
  • Management of multiple accounts and projects in a fast-paced environment which is driven by regulations and deadlines
  • Managing the production of print and promotional items for campaigns
  • Monitoring industry trends, competitive landscape (strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities), to inform all existing activity and inspire the development of new executions and experiences.
  • Develop and manage assigned project budgets ensuring programs are properly budgeted, estimated, and scheduled.
  • Collating and generating cost estimations based off client requests and formal briefs
  • Production of promoter briefs, creative briefs, post mortems, status reports and project reports
  • Work with design and creative to deliver a pitch document and presentation to client across the accounts within the agency.
  • Source new suppliers at any given time in order to align to the new/ad hoc request from clients
  • Manage an inventory across all items within your portfolio of work
  • Develop chase list for all clients under your portfolio to manage lead time and delivery expectations
  • Coordination with staff members working on the same account to ensure consistent service delivery
  • Coordination and supervision of all key processes of the project - presentation, recruitment, training, personnel management, planning, budgeting, reporting, evaluation, recon of all quotations and post-mortem reporting to clients

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years proven experience in an Account Manager role
  • Valid drivers licence and own a reliable car
  • Marketing and events background
  • Availability to work over a weekend and public holidays in the event that an activation is running
  • Minimal travel required for training or other scheduled events.
  • The ability to set up and strike all elements and collateral for activations and in store promotions running across the agency
  • Work outside trading hours in line with mall regulations for set up and strike
  • Branding and setting up and striking activations
  • Work on weekends in order to manage current activations across the agency with a high dependent on driving to various malls and stores
  • Conduct spot checks across in store and mall activations as and when required by the agency
  • Ability to build strong relationships with store Managers and store customers.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality; confidence and enthusiasm to engage with people at all levels
  • Great communication skills e.g., ability to connect with customers and build solid relationships.
  • Basic knowledge of how to use a computer; access the internet; send, receive, and review email; download documents from website or email; submit event reports.
  • Proficient in excel work and power point
  • Must be confident, and articulate to speak effectively and informatively with consumers.
  • Independent and motivated team player.
