SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

SUMMARY:
An office Automation/Telecoms company based in Nelspruit/Mpumalanga is currently seeking a Senior Accountant.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the general finances in the office including capturing, reconciling, and reporting.  A large part of the Accountants’ role is to ensure processes in the company are efficient and effective throughout the company.  A pro-active and innovative awareness is required in the position.
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Group Finance manager on daily activities.  He or she will also report to Directors and other Senior Managers in the Operations Committee on ad hoc basis.  Since the position allows access to a large amount of sensitive and confidential information, a trustworthy persona is critical to the role.
The Senior Accountant will deal with a variety of departments and staff members and will be consulted on several matters.  A good understanding of the company and its structures is therefore required with strong interpersonal skills.  Out of the box thinking is required for this position as the company is on an innovative path to expanding its footprint.

POSITION INFO:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:

• Com Degree is not negotiable
• Minimum 3 year’s experience in a Senior Accounting role
• Minimum 5 year’s experience in a Financial position will be preferred
• Experience and working knowledge of budgeting, reporting, and strategic planning
• Preference will be given to a candidate with experience on e-filing
• Preference will be given to a candidate with experience in a Group of Companies (intercompany transfers)
• Experience dealing with external audits will be highly favourable
• Ability to execute tasks effectively and efficiently
• Extreme attention to detail
• Innovative thinker and ability to prioritize and multitask
• Fully bilingual
• Own reliable transport
• Computer literate with experience on Evolution
• Preference will be given to a candidate in the area
