Azure/ Cloud Database Administrator #inoffice #automotive

My client- A leading manufacturer and supplier of automotive and industrial supplies- is on the hunt for a mid-level Data Administrator to join their developing team. 

This person would be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.

The role requires a blend of technical expertise and experience in database administration to support the data infrastructure needs of the company.

NON- NEGOTIABLES

* Experienced in successfully and regularly communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

* Understanding of the retail and warehousing industry

* Work with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is advantageous.

*  Hands-on experience with DBMS such as MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar.

* This is an in-office role in Sandton south

Scope of the Role:

• The mid-level Data Administrator plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity, performance, and security of the company's databases.
• They are expected to be proactive in identifying and resolving database issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring data availability.
• The role requires both independent work and collaboration with other IT and business teams, necessitating strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The Data Administrator will contribute to strategic planning for database infrastructure improvements and support the organization's data-driven initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in database administration or a related role.
  • Hands-on experience with DBMS such as MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar.
• Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, or similar are a plus.

Desired Skills and Competencies:

1. Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in SQL and experience with database scripting languages.
• Knowledge of database design principles, indexing, and query optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and data integration tools.

2. Analytical Skills:

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze complex data requirements and provide efficient solutions.

*Advantageous : Experience b uying and Selling cross border ( Forex and shipping Costs)

Tools and Technologies:

• Familiarity with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of API is advantageous
• Hands-on experience with DBMS such as MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar.
