SUMMARY: Our client, a well established and fast paced medium sized timber manufacturing company, seeks to employ an experienced Buyer, to join their team.
Please note that due to the urgency to place this role, candidates based in Cape town will receive preference In addition, this role incorporates creditors recons, as well as providing ad hoc administrative support to the Directors when required, therefore multi-tasking, proactivity, good time management and accuracy is essential POSITION INFO:
KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION - You will have completed Matric, coupled with 5+ years experience in the procurement of material used in the timber, aluminium and production consumable materials (a tertiary qualification in purchasing or supply chain is highly advantageous)
- You will have proven experience in sourcing suppliers, negotiating best prices, providing support to the directors regarding quotations, production costing as well as placing orders and following up on back orders.
- You will be able to forecast and plan according to projects, as well as be able to understand scope of works and ensure sufficient stock is delivered to the stores per project.
- You will have excellent communication skills, be able to interpret project schedules and prepare tender pricing documentation
- Your relationship building, organisational and planning skills will be of at a high level, as well as being able to review cost efficiency and quality of materials
- You will also have experience in reconciling creditors, ensuring payments are made timeously and assist with any ad hoc administrative support to the Directors.
- Advanced Excel and ERP (QuickBooks, PASTEL) expertise is essential
- You must have a valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
