Director of Lodge Operations

📌JD Specialized Recruitment is partnering with a company with a portfolio of 5* lodges to identify an exceptional DIRECTOR OF LODGE OPERATIONS

➡️PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidate must be based in Durban or willing to relocate.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in senior hospitality operations management
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Proven track record of leading and growing multi-site operations within the lodge sector.
• Strong understanding of all aspects of lodge operations, including housekeeping, food and beverage service, guest services, and maintenance.
• Experience in developing and implementing strategic operational plans.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with General Managers, staff, vendors, and shareholders.
• Analytical with strong problem-solving, fiscal management, and budgeting skills.
• A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies.
• Experience maximizing room yield and lodge revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
• Well versed with reservations and tour operator engagements.
• Proven experience in mentoring and developing a high-performing team.
• Experience with hospitality technology and Property Management Systems essential – Semper experience preferred.
• A valid driver's license and own vehicle
• Ability to travel and spend time at relevant properties multiple times per year.
• Stable employment history and contactable references.
