Lead Database Administrator in Cape Town

Our client is seeking a Database Administrator & Commercial Project Lead to play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient management and optimization of our point-of-sale systems, including GAAP and Pilot. The successful candidate will possess a background in GAAP (POS System) or similar POS systems with database administration experience and analytical skills to contribute to reporting and data-driven decision-making. Responsibilities

• Database Administration
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors to ensure smooth operation.
• Analyze and recommend improvements to enhance database efficiency.
• Implement and enforce data policies, procedures, and standards.
• Back of House and POS Familiarity:
• Have a familiarity / understanding of back-of-house processes and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Generate ad hoc, weekly, and monthly reports using analytical skills.
• Contribute to data-driven decision-making processes.
• Project Management
• Manage data-related projects from conception to completion.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

• Maintain accurate and organized records of data-related activities.
• Ensure compliance with data management policies and procedures
• Ensure accuracy and precision in data entry and reporting.
• Perform data validation and quality assurance checks.
• Approach data-related challenges with a logical mindset.
• Solve problems efficiently and effectively.

• Educational Qualifications: National Diploma, BTech, or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or equivalent.
• Professional Functional: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Industry: Experience in FMCG or QSR industry preferred.
