Job Function
Expediting, and scheduling of loads and vehicles. Key performance areas

• Daily receiving and processing of transport orders
• Daily planning, routing, and scheduling of vehicles.
• Risk management – ensuring all loads are adequately insured and that high-value loads are monitored from loading to delivery
• Adhering to booking slots for direct deliveries
• Daily measurement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in accordance with each client’s Service Level Agreement (SLA)
• Day-to-day building and management of service-driven and professional relationship with all key contacts at clients, warehouse, loading points, delivery points and subcontractors
• Administration function – feed all load data into TMS; reconciliation of POD’s; in-transit claims recording and investigation

Skills and experience required

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar controller position
• Excellent communication skills – daily contact with clients, dispatch teams, delivery points, subcontractors, and drivers
• Computer literacy – experienced in working on transport operational system, MS Word, PowerPoint, and above-average MS Excel skills
• Well versed in e-mail etiquette and MS Outlook with good writing skills
• A professional and service-driven approach to dealing with clients and service providers alike
• Neat and punctual with the natural ability to organize
• The ability & willingness to work long hours and within strict collection and delivery times constrains
