Job Description - POD/Credit Clerk/Administrator

About the company: Our client, a leading logistics company based in Cape Town, Northern Suburbs. They specialise in providing efficient and reliable transportation and distribution services to our clients, ensuring seamless delivery of goods.

Job Description: We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organised POD/Credit Clerk/Administrator to join our administrative team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing proof of delivery (POD) documents, managing customer credits, and providing general administrative support to the operations department.

Responsibilities:

  1. Process proof of delivery (POD) documents accurately and in a timely manner.
  2. Verify delivery receipts and reconcile with shipping records.
  3. Communicate with drivers and customers to resolve any discrepancies in delivery documentation.
  4. Manage customer credit accounts and process credit memos as necessary.
  5. Maintain accurate records of credit transactions and customer interactions.
  6. Assist with data entry and administrative tasks as needed.
  7. Provide general administrative support to the operations department.
  8. Respond to customer inquiries and provide assistance as required.
  9. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  10. Perform ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Requirements:

  1. Certificate or Diploma in Administration, Accounting, or related field.
  2. Proven experience in a similar administrative role, preferably in the logistics industry.
  3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  5. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  7. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Knowledge of proof of delivery (POD) processes and credit management procedures is preferred.
  9. Experience with administrative duties such as data entry and filing.
  10. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
