HR-IR Officer (EE): Construction Site (1-year contract)

Humansdorp, Eastern Cape

Our client requires the services of an experienced HR-IR Officer who enjoys a construction site environment. The position will report to the Construction Manager on site and with a dotted line to the Head Office’s HR department. The successful incumbent will be responsible for all the HR and IR-related aspects of setting up and maintaining employee and sub-contractor well-being, performance , and discipline.

Duties:

Recruitment and Selection

Source operational resources, including local labour and skills for the site .

Book and participate in interviews

Arrange practical/work assessments

Arrange medicals

Administer appointments

Coordinate induction

Maintain a database of applicants

Wage administration

Evaluate and submit time sheets to the wage bureau

Check the payment report received from wage bureau

Submit invoice breakdown to Head Office Finance Department

Disciplinary procedures

Investigate allegations

Prepare disciplinary warnings

Provide IR advice to management

Maintain records of all allegations and warnings

General

Prepare and submit statistics to client/contractor Head Office HR department

Prepare and submit job creation data to client/contractor and Head Office HR depar t ment

Chair periodical meetings

Maintain workplace efficiency

Requirements:

Senior Certificate is a minimum, but a National Diploma in Human Resources will be advantageous

At least 3 years prior experience as an HR Officer on a large construction site

Sound knowledge of HR policies and procedures , as well as disciplinary procedures

Administrative skills and attention to detail

Ability to plan and organize

A strong focus on quality and doing things right’

Offer:

R 15000.00 – R18000.00 , plus free accommodation, LOA, monthly R&R, as well as a project completion bonus
