QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
• Proven experience in solar project management, operations, or asset management.
• Strong understanding of solar energy systems, components and technologies.
• Familiarity with monitoring and data analytic tools used in the solar industry.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the renewable energy industry and will embody respect and responsibility in the full sense of the word, while enjoying contributing to a team of highly knowledgeable professionals.

• Minimum 3 years in a Solar Asset Management, Operation and Maintenance (O&M) or engineering project management environment.
• Experience as an asset manager within renewable energy industry would be highly advantageous.
• Knowledge and application of relevant compliance requirements with complex contractual entities.
• Must be proficient in English (verbal and written communication)
• Must be computer literate (MS Office Suite and Google App Suite)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Asset Management

• Ensure plant yield mechanisms (Performance Ratio(PR)/Yield Guarantee percentage) meet stipulated monthly guarantees.
• Tracking of equipment warranties and notifying in advance when warranties are close to lapsing as well as placing warranty extensions on critical components.

• Track Performance Liquidated Damages due to O&M underperformance.
• Track and calculate production loss events and associated yield losses.
• Establish weekly check in and feedback meeting with O&M Manager for feedback on outstanding items.
• Perform red flag analysis weekly.
• Equipment audits to identify nonperforming brands/equipment types – notify and liaise with procurement and OEM supplier.
• Introduce technical cost saving initiatives.
• Execute the Management Service Agreements for the portfolio of projects for which you are responsible.
• Drive operational efficiency of projects and business processes.
• Work closely with Asset Optimisation Engineer to drive project optimisation strategies and projects.
• Oversee spare parts management to ensure minimal downtime.
• Technical subcontractor management.
• Assist with insurance claims from a technical perspective.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and health and safety is upheld.
• Yield performance forecasting.
• Facilitate Technical DD for Sales and Acquisitions of Assets.
• Identify and implement performance improvements
• Ad hoc request as required by line manager.

Lifecycle Project Management

• Track Build, Own and Operate (BOO) Plants from contracting to operation.
• Technical due diligence on documentation during various project stage gates.
• Drive handovers from construction/commissioning to O&M.

Reporting and Analysis

• Prepare financial and technical Performance of Portfolio Reports bi-weekly.
• Weekly production yield Red Flag Analysis Reports.
• Monthly status update reports on BOO plants under construction.
• Quarterly portfolio performance reports.
• Annual Performance Liquidated Damage Reports.
• Asset Owner Feedback meetings – per Asset Owner Frequency.
• Ad hoc Performance Analysis Reports for Portfolio’s / Plant Specific.
• Ad hoc reports as required by line manager
