SUMMARY: Red Ember Recruitment is looking for Coffee Technicians to join their offices in Johannesburg.
POSITION INFO: General:
- Required to do tool checks and where applicable (Responsible for “lost” tools).
- Perform any other tasks as instructed by the National Coffee Manager.
- Operational assistance and guidance to customers on equipment.
- Groomed well and vehicle kept clean and neat to meet professional image for the business.
- Promote company ethics and values at all times.
- Announcing him to the management of the establishment with an explanation for a visit.
- Work standby as required from time to time.
- Stick to the route planned as per Brew Coffee SLA.
Technical and On-Site Duties:
- Repair Faulty Equipment.
- Fault Finding – Intermediate to Advanced – mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and software-related.
- Testing all equipment to ensure it is mechanically, aesthetically, and functionally acceptable.
- Calibrating and or programming equipment to ensure the right quality of coffee products is produced.
- Install beverage equipment and test with the product before leaving the customer
- Upliftment of equipment.
- Communicate fault on equipment and corrective action taken to the Manager on site.
- Inform the field service coordinator OR technical support manager of updates or returns.
- Escalate any problems i.e. wrong address, site not ready, no product, etc. to T.S.M. immediately.
- Phone for assistance from Internal Specialists when struggling to repair equipment within a reasonable and acceptable time.
- First-time repair of equipment.
- Preventative checks and repairs on equipment.
Equipment Specific Requirements:
- The Technician must have basic, intermediate, and advanced skills within the items and machines listed below.
Advanced skills as defined below:
- Detailed knowledge of machine functions and specifications i.e. capacity, brew time, electricity requirements, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of the water and coffee cycle.
- Ability to program advanced parameters and set the machine according to customers'' drink specifications.
- Knowledge of electric circuits also using a Multimeter to test.
- Knowledge of hydraulic circuits.
- Able to strip and re-assemble machine components.
- Understanding and measuring extraction through the machine.
- Methodical understanding of brew process, water in – coffee out.
- Fault finding mechanical and electrical and programming related.
- Understanding of components and specifications such as switches, fuses, timers, inlet valves, elements, etc.
- Calibration of machine.
- Basic understanding of the electronic process during the election cycle.

Requirements:
- 2 – 4 years of experience in maintenance and repairs on coffee machines.
- Matric.
- Valid drivers.
- Proven work experience as a Coffee Machine Technician or similar role.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
