We are seeking a Customer Service Engineer I to join our team. As a crucial member of our technical support team, you'll be responsible for providing high-quality customer service and technical support to our clients. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, providing timely solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving skills.

What you’ll do:

  • Customer Service Skills : Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with end users, understanding their issues, and providing timely and courteous support.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities : The ability to analyse and troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions is crucial for desktop support roles.
  • Attention to Detail : Desktop support technicians often deal with intricate hardware and software configurations, so attention to detail is important to ensure accurate problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • Time Management and Prioritization: The ability to manage multiple support tickets simultaneously, prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact, and meet service level agreements (SLAs) is essential in a fast-paced support environment.
  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning : The IT landscape is constantly evolving, so a willingness to adapt to new technologies, learn new skills, and stay updated with industry trends is critical for success in desktop support roles.

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency in operating systems: Windows, MacOS, Linux.
  • Hardware troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
  • Remote desktop support tools and techniques.
  • Basic scripting or automation skills can be advantageous.

Your expertise:

  • 5 + Years practical in-service delivery; desktop support; generalist. Basic Server Support

Qualifications required:

  • Grade 12
  • A+
  • N+
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Cisco Certified DevNet Associate and Professional
  • Cisco Certified Specialist Certifications
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
  • MCSE
  • MCSA

Other information applicable to the opportunity:

  • Contract Position (12 Months)
  • Location: Durban
  • Work environment: Onsite (open plan office)
  • Travel: Own vehicle essential
