Electrical Service Technician

International mechanical drives company near Edenvale is looking for an experienced Electrical Service Technician to service their electronic products range, as well as support the development of new automation applications as they are identified. Required:* Matric / N3 minimum, Diploma in Electronics / Electrical Engineering advantageous* Control systems / automation experience* Experience with VSDs* Previous industrial automation experience* In-depth knowledge of the control of industrial processes using PLCs, VSDs and other programming devices* Solutions-based approach to problem solving * In-depth understanding of the elements of torque, speed and power, and how they interrelate both from a mechanical and electrical perspective * Ability to multi-task and prioritise jobs * Excellent communication skills* Previous power transmission experience advantageous * Strong report writing skills* Hands-on approachRemuneration package:* Market related CTC package which includes medical aid and provident fund* Company car, cellphone etc.Responsibilities:* Control and repair of all incoming electronic equipment (identify and log into system, clean and strip, quotations, customer feedback, adhere to quality standards, follow up on outstanding jobs)* Telephonic assistance and onsite commissioning and repair work (technical support, fault finding, customer liaison, ensure adherence to regulations and procedures, proper documentation)* Sales support, carry out site visits with sales personnel (identify application opportunities for automation products, assist with design of control systems and selection of equipment, assist with preparation of offer to customer, installation and commissioning, panel design and construction)* Warranties and returns (control receipt of returns and/or warranty claims, inspection of units, reports)Contact Scott on (***)***-****
