A forestry and sawmilling concern, Merensky Timber supplies Pine and Eucalyptus lumber to southern African and international markets. Merensky plantations comprise both Pine and Eucalyptus species, totalling ca 67 880 hectares across South Africa. Ours are the largest privately-owned plantations in South Africa being managed on a sawlog rotation. Adhering to and often exceeding local and international standards for environmentally-sustainable forestry management practices, the Merensky plantations continue to provide the highest-quality saw timber to both the local and international markets. The ca 54 700 hectares of Merensky Pine plantations extend from the Dargle forests of KwaZulu-Natal through to the forests of Baziya on the south-western slopes of the Matiwane range in the Eastern Cape. Merensky is also a pioneer of commercially-grown sawlog rotation Eucalyptus in South Africa, with plantations extending to ca 11 000 hectares. Many decades of continuous genetic improvements have resulted in superior Eucalyptus sawlog plantations. All Merensky plantations carry the prestigious Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) accreditation, an international audit benchmark assuring consumers that Merensky lumber originates from forests managed in a sustainable and responsible manner, according to the environmental social and economic principles of the FSC®. Merensky lumber is available in bulk direct to merchants or from Distribution Centres in major centres across South Africa. Product applications for our lumber include construction, furniture and joinery, among many others.The Role: As a Junior Customer Relationship Manager, your role is to promote and sell Merensky's products. Promote sales, manage customer relations, and develop new business. Report on market activity and customer status. Qualifications: Matric and preferably a diploma in sales / marketing Valid unendorsed driver's license(compulsory) Experience: At least five years' experience in the timber industry in a sales or management role Knowledge and Skills: In depth knowledge of the Timber industry and related products Personal selling techniques Customer and market demands/trends Customer relationship management Basic understanding of supply & demand dynamics Advanced levels of computer literacy in complete MS Office suite Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills Influencing and persuasive skills Interpersonal skills Tenacity ACCPAC & AX ERP system Our ideal candidate: Aligns to Merensky's purpose of Doing Good, and our values of Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Integrity, Inclusion, Innovation, and Quality.
