SUMMARY:
An international industrial pumps company supplying into the Mining, Water, Food, Chemical and related Industries is looking for a Project Engineer to liaise with customers, coordinate and implement all administration as well as work closely with all departments within the company.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A Mechanical Qualification and minimum 5 years relevant experience is essential.
- Must have experience dealing specifically within the Mining / Consulting houses sector.
- Have Legal and Commercial experience in Contract Negotiation.
- Competent in the establishment and management of QC systems.
- Understanding of customer QC systems, programs, requirements and procedures.
- Have Technical understanding of customer requirements vs product abilities/applications.
- Full understanding of plant processes, flow charts and reading of technical and complex schematics and system designs.
- Have Electrical and Mechanical proficiency.
- Ability to communicate, negotiate on a technically complex process, system applications and commercial conditions on a director level.
- Above average communication skills verbally and literary and ability to present to large audiences.
- Must be thorough, with an eye for detail with discipline and ability to meet strict timelines and deadlines.
- Entrepreneurial abilities to develop a business unit.
- Numeracy proficient for technical calculation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: - Coordinating the smooth execution of all large projects that are awarded to the company.
- Overseeing installations when required and ensuring all legal obligations are fulfilled and overseeing all aspects of risk management.
- Developing and maintaining a close working relationship with the Managing Director, Financial Manager, Projects Administrator, ensuring that communication is open and regular.
- Formulating and implementing standard policies and procedures for the Projects Department.
- Ensuring the correct interpretation of commercial and technical requirements of the client.
- Ensuring the correct technical selection of equipment offered in all bids.
- Negotiating of service level agreements and contracts with project end users.
- Handling technical on-site assistance including commissioning.
- Establishing project end-user relationship and handing over to the company’s internal/external salesperson.
- Submitting project reports bi-weekly.
- Providing advice/support to internal/external customers on a range of the company’s products to service valid customer requirements.
- Compiling annual projects sales budget.
- Monitoring progress of project expenditure and taking corrective action where necessary.
- Ensuring all legal obligations are fulfilled. This encompasses interpreting legal requirements and preparing all necessary legal documentation or obtaining legal opinion to ensure the company’s interests are protected.
- Promoting team building and supervising staff to ensure sales objectives are achieved.
