Derivco is seeking a talented Senior Business Analyst to join our Durban office.

The Senior Business Analyst will be the liaison between business and cross-functional delivery teams on large, complex projects, spanning multiple product or service areas. Some of the primary areas of contribution will be to ensure business requirements, as well as project impact and benefits, are valid and well understood. To ensure the design of solutions meets business needs and aligns with business unit strategies.

This role will be required to analyse data and pro-actively identify software product or service improvement opportunities. Further to this, the role will be supporting the implementation and improvement of the company's business analysis practices.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct impact and benefit assessments for projects that improve or develop new products or services to inform project approval and prioritisation decisions for lower complexity projects.
• Review low and medium complexity project charters and governance documentation and provide input to support appropriate project scoping and management
• Gather, document, influence and analyse business and system requirements for large, highly complex projects or programmes to understand and verify their feasibility, validity and alignment to business unit strategy.
• Conduct competitor and market research and analysis to identify and recommend product improvements.
• Create and propose business solutions that spans multiple product or service areas, including their benefits, payoffs and influence the decision-making process to support business unit objectives.
• Ensures an understanding of a product or service solution amongst testing and development teams to support the optimal delivery of business requirements.
• Contribute to automated testing by identifying test scenarios to contribute to solution quality.
• Define user acceptance criteria and perform user acceptance testing to ensure the solution meets user requirements.
• Support post deployment activities in the production environment.
• Creates and executes delivery plans to support the execution of the business analysis service strategy in a business unit.
• Align and implement the organisation's business analysis practices to ensure adherence to the company's processes, tools, methods, standards.
• Conduct research and analyse data to identify trends, new methods and standards and recommend these for improving and future proofing business analysis practices.
• Create and deliver knowledge sharing programmes to ensure awareness of BA services and practices.
• Coach and upskill colleagues to continuously build our business analysis capability.
• Escalate issues & risks effectively to relevant stakeholders to ensure awareness if issues that may compromise project delivery

Key requirements:

• Must have minimum 5 years’ experience in an Analyst role working on large scale projects / experience in strategic analysis activities.
• Relevant diploma or degree in IT/Computer Science, Social Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
• IT industry experience advantageous
• Business Analyst Development (BAD)
• System development and design (SAD)
