Buyer - West Coast

Calling all Buyers on the West Coast POSITION INFO:
My client a company located on the West Coast Saldanha / Vredenburg is looking to employ a Storeman to join their team as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Procurement Manager. To qualify for this position the most suitable candidate must fulfill the following requirements: Job Requirements:  • Minimum Educational qualification - Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent qualification as per the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
• A Higher Tertiary Qualification, i.e. Nat. Diploma or Degree in Purchasing and / or Supply Chain Management. A Technical Diploma will be given due consideration and preference.
• Minimum 5 years'''''''' experience in Purchasing 1 Supply Chain in a technicall heavy industrial environment or Engineering. A strong technical background will be an added advantage.
• Proven proficiency with Microsoft office. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must be willing and able to perform standby duties and work extended hours.
• Must have a valid, unendorsed driver''''''''s license to perform standby duties and get to work. Must be criminal clear Basic/Brief Job Functions/Responsibilities: • Procure services and goods of the correct quality from most cost-effective supplier.
• Expediting and follow-up of all orders and critical goods and services.
• Develop and maintain healthy Supplier relations.
• Liaise between the Suppliers and the End Users in the plant to ensure goods and services are procured timeously to avoid any downtime.
• Investigate possible alternative suppliers on a regular basis to meet budgets/KPI targets.
• Arrange collections and dispatches.
• Ensure optimal stock replacement.
• Apply and implement good document control and administration.
• Housekeeping and safety In addition to the above, the successful candidate must also have the following attributes: Good ethical conduct, positive with energetic attitude; highly self-motivated; good verbal and written English communication skills; good attendance record and sober habits; good time management skills; be able to work effectively and accurately without supervision and in a team.
