Job Description - Junior Interior Designer

SUMMARY:
A well-established Interior Design Company is looking to hire an experienced Interior Architect to join their team in Johannesburg North.

R12 000 ~ R15 000 | On Site | Johannesburg | Perm POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

Design Support
- Assist in the development of interior design concepts and presentations.
- Create mood boards, sample boards, and presentation materials.
- Participate in client meetings to understand their needs and preferences.
Drafting and Modeling
- Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and elevations using software such as Revit, Adobe Creative Suite.
- Develop 3D models and renderings to visualize design concepts.
Material and Product Selection
- Research and source materials, furniture, fixtures, and finishes.
- Maintain a library of design resources and samples.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for material procurement.
Project Coordination
- Support senior designers in project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and tracking progress.
- Assist in site measurements and documentation.
- Conduct site visits to assist with design implementation and ensure adherence to design specifications.
Client Interaction
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather information and provide updates on project status.
- Prepare and present design proposals under the supervision of senior designers.
Administrative Tasks
- Organize and maintain project files and documentation.
- Assist with preparing contracts, invoices, and other administrative documents.
- Handle general office duties and support the design team as needed.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
Experience: min 2 years of experience in interior design or a related field; internships or co-op experiences are highly valued.
Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
Design Skills: Strong design sense with a good eye for color, texture, and spatial planning.
Technical Skills: Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organization: Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Working Conditions
