RESPONSIBILITIES:
Academics
Responsible for quality of Subject Teachers
Guidance to subject teachers
Coaching of new teachers
Ensure that subject curricula are adequately covered.
Supports best practices in curriculum and pedagogy, based on current research on teaching and learning.
Academic Offerings
Review and advise on the Academic offering and make recommendations on viability of subjects or introduction of subjects.
Supervises curriculum integrity, alignment, and articulation in the high school.
Serves as the academic advisor to the HOHS as it pertains to curriculum, academic programming, and personnel.
Teachers Development
Identify skills gaps and implement corrective actions.
Serves as the director and coordinator of faculty professional development and faculty growth and renewal.
Subject development
In conjunction with the Subject Teacher implement improvements in the subject offering and extension.
HS Professional development
Ensure the continued professional development of High School Teaching Staff.
Acts as an educational facilitator for best institutional and educational practices
Training
Initiate and schedule required subject related Cambridge Training.
Assessment Training
Ensure that all High School staff are fully trained and regularly refreshed on the Cambridge Assessment.
Runs the Academic internal Test and Examination timetables.
Supervision
Leads, develops, and manages meetings, task forces, and other programming as they pertain to the job.
Check that books are regularly marked, and comments included.
Meets regularly with all High School Staff members as a group and individually.
Responsible for the completing and checking of Termly reports and comments along with the HOHS
Teacher Planning and ensure that it corresponds with Lessons.
Ensure teachers are in their classes teaching.
Ensure that here are textbook lists and it is kept up to date.
Set up teacher portfolio lists.
Keep up with curriculum changes and make sure teachers implement it.
