A popular, busy combined 400 seater Restaurant/Club located on multiple levels and outlets (One centralized Kitchen), located North of Durban, KZN. This is a 7 day operation. Sundays to Wednesdays the operating hours are standard 10-close Lunch and Dinner Service, and Thursday, Friday and Saturday Nights operate as a Night Club so close early hours next morning. Working hours will be Split Shifts on Club Nights and 10h30 to close during the week. This role will work 6 days per week standardly.
Head Chef needed for new upmarket Restaurant. Looking for individuals with 7+ years senior chef experience. Will report to Group Exec Chef. Knowledge of modern cuisine required. Experience in a high-end Restaurant environment essential. Must be able to coordinate and manage complete kitchen operation. Main duties will include food preparation and food quality control. Will be responsible for kitchen control systems and stock management. Candidates must be able to work in a team and be able to lead a kitchen brigade. Only experienced candidates with good references need to apply. Experience in menu planning and food development essential. Strong cooking skills essential. This is a cooking and management role. Must be knowledgeable of modern food trends.
Formal Culinary Qualifications required.
Lots of energy, drive, passion for restaurant service and operating at a high-pace. Seeking 5-7 years of experience within a similar role in a busy Restaurant environment at Senior Chef level. Computer Skills Microsoft Excel and Word. GAAP experience an advantage. Proven Stable Track record required. Flexible and able to work odd hours that industry demands.
