Job Description - Hotel Reservations Consultant

Valor Hospitality Partners is proud to announce an exciting opportunity to join one of our esteemed clients as a Reservations Consultant in Cape Town , situated near the breathtaking waterfront. Our client is seeking a seasoned professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience on the OPERA reservations system and proficiency in MS Office. Job Purpose: The Reservations Consultant plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless booking processes and exceptional guest experiences. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, you'll contribute to our client's reputation as a premier destination for travelers seeking unparalleled service and hospitality.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the OPERA reservations system to accurately interpret guest accommodation needs and maximize room occupancy.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure guest preferences are met with precision and contribute to a highly professional environment.
  • Respond to inquiries promptly and generate accurate quotations within specified time frames.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of all booking details and correspondence.
  • Coordinate efforts between reservations and other department teams to ensure personalized service delivery.
  • Assist in the orientation of new employees and support positive employee engagement initiatives.
  • Adhere to policies, processes, and standards governing reservations while identifying opportunities for quality improvements.
  • Meet financial targets including occupancy, average daily rate, and upselling.
  • Assist in maintaining hospitality spaces and facilities to ensure impeccable conditions for guests.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and safety measures to protect guests and employees.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospitality reservations operations, preferably in a luxury hotel setting.
  • Proficiency in the OPERA reservations system and MS Office suite.
  • Degree or equivalent in Hospitality Management/Leadership preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs and think creatively to meet them.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • Commitment to exceptional service and continuous improvement.
  • Impeccable grooming and presentation.
