Junior Accountant - Rosebank

Hotel in Rosebank is currently looking for a Junior Accountant.  The role is responsible for providing support to the Financial Manager with regards to accounts, payments and reconciliations.

• Capturing bank accounts daily.
• Ensuring that bank reconciliations balance each day.
• Loading invoices for payment.
• Monitoring the Daily Revenue Reports and ensuring they balance to the system.
• Capturing all invoices from suppliers accurately and to the correct account codes.
• Ensuring that system balances to creditors statements at the end of each month.
• Loading Creditors Run monthly.
• Capturing all credit card allocations accurately.
• Ensuring system balances to the Credit Card Statement at month end.
• Reconciling the petty cash.
• Ensuring that the petty cash reconciliation balances at month end.
• Assist with capturing VAT Returns on SARS e-Filing.
• Process all month end journals.
• Invoicing customers for services (managements, marketing, accounting, reservations as well as any expenses incurred.
• Balancing inter-company loan accounts monthly.
• Capturing interest and balancing any bank loans, finance leases, mortgage bond accounts.
• Processing interest on loan accounts.
• Updating and controlling the Asset Register and ensuring it balances.
• Process depreciation on the Asset Register monthly.
• Balance to Guest Ledger, Debtors Ledger and Advance Deposit Ledger monthly.
• Balance system to Trial Balance and the PMS Trial Balance YTD every month to check for variances.
• Run Financial Reports monthly and check for variances.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 (essential)
• Qualification in Accounting (essential)
• 1-2 years of Hospitality specific experience will be an advantage
• Sound knowledge of MS Office Suite and Pastel
• Sound knowledge of Payroll (advantageous) and Property Management Systems (advantageous).
