Job Description - Paralegal Secretary

Minimum Requirements Matric Essential Legal secretary / paralegal / qualification advantageous Minimum of 3-4 years' experience as a para legal secretary in a large law firm Full working knowledge of all MS packages Hard worker and deadline driven Good communication skills Must be well organised and conscientious Display attention to detail Good Interpersonal skills Honest, reliable and punctual Able to work well under pressure Duties and Responsibilities Welcomes guests and clients by greeting them in person or on the telephone, and by answering or directing inquiries. Produces information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics to help coordinate case preparation. Reads, researches, reviews, verifies, and routes correspondence, reports, and legal documents. Drafts, revises, and edits letters and other written documents, and collects and analyzes information. Maintains managements calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, travel; and filing requirements; monitoring evidence-gathering; and anticipating changes in litigation or transaction preparation requirements. Maintains client confidence by keeping clients information confidential. Develops and maintains filing and retrieval systems, as well as digital archive systems. Records and documents meeting discussions, maintains transcripts, documents, and maintains evidence. Dictaphone and copy / typing of a wide range of documents Preparing agreements Incorporating amendments into documents and cross-referencing clauses Preparing resource and client files Administering and organising legal documents Ensuring that the Filing System is kept up to date (Hard Copy / Electronic)
