With 10 cottages, the hotel caters to an exclusive clientele, including expats and niche travellers, providing personalized services in a picturesque setting.

Position Overview: My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Resident Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of this boutique beach hotel. The ideal candidate will reside on-site and possess a strong background in Food & Beverage management, as well as property maintenance and repairs knowledge. The Resident Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high standards of service, and driving the overall success of the property.

*Please Note that this position is only open to East African Nationals ( Kenya / Tanzania / Uganda )  

Responsibilities:
Operational Management:

• Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including front desk management, housekeeping, food and beverage service, and maintenance.
• Ensure smooth and efficient daily operations to meet guest expectations and uphold brand standards.
• Implement policies and procedures to optimize operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Guest Experience:

• Foster a culture of exceptional guest service, ensuring guests receive personalized attention and memorable experiences.
• Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally, striving to exceed guest expectations.
• Monitor guest reviews and ratings, implementing strategies to continuously improve guest satisfaction.

Food & Beverage Management:

• Supervise food and beverage operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and quality control.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards in food preparation and service areas.
• Train and develop F&B staff to deliver exceptional service and enhance the overall dining experience.

Property Maintenance and Repairs:

• Oversee maintenance and repair activities to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of the property.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, identifying maintenance needs and coordinating repairs as necessary.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to prolong the lifespan of equipment and facilities.

Staff Management:

• Recruit, train, and supervise hotel staff, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
• Foster a positive work environment conducive to teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.
• Manage staff schedules, assignments, and payroll in accordance with business needs and budgetary constraints.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, with a focus on boutique hotels or luxury resorts.
• Strong background in Food & Beverage management, including menu development, cost control, and guest service.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of property maintenance and repair principles, with hands-on experience in overseeing maintenance activities.
• Exceptional leadership and decision-making abilities, with a customer-centric approach to service delivery.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
