Head of Projects

SUMMARY:
Our client, a leader in engineering design, manufacturing, supply, installation, and commissioning services within the mining industry, is seeking a highly experienced Head of Projects to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
Job Experience:

• BSc / BEng Engineering Degree
• Over 5 years of design experience
• Over 5 years of project engineering/project management experience
• Proven experience leading a multi-disciplined team
• 10 years of experience in the mining machine OEM environment

Responsibilities:

• Line management of and responsibility for all Project Managers and project management activities
• Leading the project management team and managing projects, including resourcing the company’s Project Management function (50/50 role)
• Ensuring project performance meets client and company expectations
• Managing all financial aspects of allocated projects, including budget reviews, forecasting, expenditure control, invoicing, claims, and cash flow management
• Interfacing with clients and coordinating internal departments (Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Production, Procurement, Services, QA/QC, and SHE)
• Establishing and controlling project schedules to ensure timely expediting and accurate progress reporting
• Applying ISO-9001 (2015) principles as they relate to Project Management
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including OHSACT, Minerals and Petroleum Resource Development Act, Mine Health and Safety Act, and National Environmental Management Act
• Aligning operational aspects with the company’s departmental requirements through interfacing with department heads
