Job Advert Summary Clover is looking for a Category Procurement Manager: Packaging to manage and develop the category sourcing strategies and actions. This position is based at Clover Head Office in Roodepoort. Requirements Bachelor's degree (Procurement/ Business Management/Logistics/Supply Chain) or CIPS Qualification Relevant experience in applying job related concepts, techniques and processes at the required level Computer literacy (Advanced) Business English: Fluent Experience in working with senior management Professional registration Code 08 Driver's license Travel off-site/ overnight stay Competencies Ability to influence Proactive and action orientated Approaches situations with an open mind and solves problems creatively Acts with honesty and consistency Solves problems through effective decision making Clear and sound reasoning ability Business acumen Lead and drive change for improvement Duties and Responsibilities Commodity strategy formulation and execution Ensure the Procurement Commodity Managers effectively drive the tender process by initiating tenders, adjudication and awarding tenders Responsible for delivering and presenting the annual budget for direct goods accurately and on time to Exco team for approval Determine and agree the annual Productivity target for the Direct Category with the Group Manager: Business Control and Direct Sourcing. Assist and guide Procurement Commodity Manager(s) with negotiations Manage and minimise Purchase Price variances (standard cost vs. actual price paid) Consolidate and report on delivery against savings targets; Ensure that commodity strategies adequately respond to directives, mandates and initiatives set by Group Manager, Business Control and other delegations of authority, provide regular feedback on progress and highlight/escalate problems immediately Manage direct Procurement Ensure ERP system integrity relating to Procurement systems Manage the national ordering process and delivery of all direct goods for the factories and contract manufacturers Responsible for warehouse utilisation/ space planning for inbound goods Safeguard cashflow by managing days stock on-hand Improve service levels to internal customers - Marketing, Product Technology & Technical Services, Production, Planning & Distribution Ensure all Procurement related activities are executed by the Procurement team in assisting with new launches such as but not limited to: Vendor registrations; Direct goods phase outs; Loading of item codes; etc. Accurate and timeous feedback to the relevant stakeholders with regard to quality issues and late deliveries which may affect production Conduct quarterly meetings with internal stakeholders to evaluate and improve Procurement's performance Ensure compliance to relevant legislation and policies Supplier management and supplier performance Ensure all contract types are in place with all critical Suppliers, monitor if Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators are enforced Ensure the Supplier management dashboard is up to date and the direct suppliers are managed accordingly Develop and manage strategic supplier relationship and responsible for improving Clover's BBBEE score Ensure supplier forecasts and capacity checks to be submitted timeously, ensure shut down periods and lead times are confirmed with the suppliers and communicated timeously to the relevant factories and contract packers Ability to listen and to communicate and to relate to others on a personal or professional level Share relevant information accurately and timeously with the relevant parties, escalate mistakes/problems to the Group Manager: Business Control and Direct Sourcing/Exco immediately Actively contribute to team objectives and team spirit and partner across departments Constantly seek new ways of improving work processes and productivity and focus on improving own productivity Show and advance technical /professional expertise in the packaging category Manage staff Ensure optimal utilisation of staff Apply consistent discipline Train and develop staff
