Commercial Accountant

Job & Company Description:
My client is a leading logistics firm specializing in import and export operations. They pride themselves on delivering efficient and reliable solutions to their clients, ensuring seamless transportation of goods across borders. As a dynamic and growth-oriented company, they are committed to excellence in all aspects of their operations. Duties:

• Collaborate with the CFO to develop and implement financial strategies that support business objectives and drive growth
• Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights into the company's financial performance and trends
• Analyse financial data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities
• Partner with business stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support decision-making processes
• Conduct financial analysis to evaluate the financial viability of potential projects and investments
• Manage financial planning and analysis processes, including variance analysis and KPI tracking
• Monthly management packs, reporting and financial planning (Actual and Forecasting)
• Asset Management
• Risk and control
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial policies
• Contribute the annual audit process
• Assist with ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as required

Qualifications & Skills:

• Qualified CA(SA) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial role
• Strong understanding of financial principles, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• IFRS standards for SMEs
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Proven experience in financial analysis and modelling
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications – Sage Intacct beneficial
• Experience in the logistics or import/export industry is preferred but not required
• Other industries that transition well into this business is manufacturing, FMCG, hospitality, retail, agriculture
