Dispatch and Quality Control / Hyster Driver

One of our clients in the Durban South area is seeking a reliable and skilled Dispatch and Forklift Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the dispatch of goods, operating a forklift to load and unload shipments, and assisting with stock-taking and inventory management. Strong numerical skills and attention to detail are essential for this role. Key Responsibilities: Dispatch Operations: Coordinate and oversee the dispatch of goods and materials according to delivery schedules. Prepare shipping documents, such as invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels. Ensure accurate and timely loading of trucks and delivery vehicles. Forklift Operation: Operate a forklift to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse or distribution center. Safely stack and organize products in storage areas using the forklift. Perform routine maintenance checks on the forklift and report any maintenance issues. Stock Taking and Inventory Management: Assist with regular stock-taking activities to maintain accurate inventory records. Count and verify stock levels, identify discrepancies, and report findings to supervisors. Help maintain organized storage areas and ensure proper labelling of inventory. Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and quality. Report any damaged or defective items to supervisors and follow established procedures for handling discrepancies. Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while operating the forklift and performing dispatch tasks. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure a safe and efficient workplace. SHE Rep will be a big advantage. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as a dispatch or warehouse assistant, with forklift driving experience. Valid forklift operator certification (Forklift License). Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently, with good maneuvering skills. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail for accurate stock-taking and inventory management. Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy objects. Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and dispatch procedures. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Education and Experience: Grade 10 Previous experience in dispatch, warehouse, or logistics roles is preferred. Training in forklift operation and warehouse management is an advantage.
