IT Infrastructure Engineer

SUMMARY:
Are you an IT Infrastructure Engineer looking for a new challenge? A well-established logistics company is looking an experience Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. The Infrastructure Engineer will need to oversee operations on a virtualized, distributed infrastructure - including provisioning, configuration, decommissioning, lifecycle management, and patching.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

• Oversee 5 IT HUBs across Africa and provide Level 1-3 support for hardware, virtualization, SAN, and vSAN systems.
• Plan and supervise maintenance interventions, maintain system documentation, and ITSM tools.
• Ensure compliance with policies, SOPs, SLAs, reporting, and KPIs, and optimize resources through effective capacity planning.
• Manage security vulnerabilities, backup, disaster recovery strategies, and ensure continuous operation of IT infrastructure.
• Manage network components and systems, including servers, backup solutions, and business applications.
• Implement ITIL-based support processes, manage IT infrastructure contracts, update documentation, and ensure compliance with ISO, ITIL, and QHSE processes while staying current with new technologies.

Experience:

• 7 to 13 years of relevant IT experience.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in supporting and maintaining Microsoft Systems and Networks.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in supporting and maintaining VMware systems (6.7) or equivalent.
• Experience with Microsoft Server 2016 and 2019, Microsoft SQL, IIS, Remote Desktop Services, WSUS, and PowerShell.
• Familiarity with VMware systems including vCenter, update manager, clusters/data centers, with experience in V7.0 being advantageous.
• Ability to manage technical projects and work effectively in large corporate environments.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science is preferred.
