Planning and Logistics Coordinator

An industry-leading company situated in Mpumalanga is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Planning and Logistics Coordinator to join their team.

The successful incumbent for this position will be responsible for

• Obtaining quotations and negotiating rates with transporters for new contracts
• Liaising with transporters
• Liaising with silo managers and farmers, and arranging to load
• Booking trucks in to load at silos and farm venues
• Movement planning and scheduling
• Coordinate product delivery schedules with the Execution (Client facing) desk
• Book trucks in to offload with Execution Desk
• Processing of daily transport orders
• Handle transport invoice queries and claims, etc.
• Imports and exports across multi-model transport means (road, rail, maritime)
• Reports direct to Planning & Logistics Team Lead
• Matrix reporting to Operations Manager

A key focus area for this position will entail:

• Diploma or Degree in Transport or related field
• Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
• Experience within an office environment
• Good communication skills, English and Afrikaans
• Must be willing to work after hours

• Logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure while always maintaining excellent attention to detail and high a degree of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently with minimal review required.
• Planning, organising and excellent time management skills.
• Critical thinker with emotional resilience to overcome obstacles.
• Able to efficiently solve problems relating to sales and transportation of goods.
• Able to adapt quickly to change.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
