Transport & Logistics Manager - JhbFull job description2.1 Planning and managing transportation and customer services2.2 Directing, optimizing and coordinating full cycle of deliveries, collections process2.3 Liaising and negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, processing plants and customers2.4 Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services, in consultation wit the General Manager, Plant / Branch Managers and Logistics Manager2.5 Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency2.6 Plan routes and process collections and deliveries2.7 Resolve any arising problems or complaints2.8 Manage, coach and train Transport Department employees2.9 Manage budgets, costs, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets2.10 Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements2.11Schedule daily and weekly routes2.1 2Track orders using functional systems (e.g. barcodes and tracking software)2.13 Coordinate with Warehouse to ensure proper storage and distribution of products2.14 Ensure delivery and collection (Manifests) documents are properly processed and filed2.15 Manage maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment2.16 Research, recommend and implement cost-effective transport, processes and methods2.17 Conduct regular safety audits on equipment and vehicles.2.18 Organize training sessions for employees (e.g. proper use of machines and handling of hazardous material.2.19 Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed order, deliveries and collections, and2.10 Ensure compliance and development of policies for the department in line with the relevant legislation and procedures.2.11 Stay up-to-date with safety regulations3.1 QualificationsBSc in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant fieldSolid knowledge of supply chain managementDrivers License3.2. Experience2 – 5 Years. proven work experience as a Transport Manager, or similar role3.3. SkillsExcellent organizational skillsDemonstrable ability to lead and manage staffAbility to work independently and handle multiple projectsAbility to supervise and train staff.Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.Proficient in logistics software such as:Car TrackKey FleetBetween 3 - 5 YearsReport job
