Conventional Machinist

Conventional Machinist- East rand POSITION INFO:
A company that is in the Engineering industry is looking to hire a Conventional Machinist. The Conventional Machinist will be responsible for operating and maintaining manual machining equipment to produce high-quality precision parts. The individual must have the following experience:

• Operate manual lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce precision parts according to specifications
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents
• Set up and adjust machinery to ensure accurate and efficient operation
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machining equipment
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve productivity
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and regulations
• Document work processes and maintain accurate records of production activities

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining is preferred
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a conventional machinist in an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in operating manual lathes, milling machines, and grinders
• Strong understanding of machining techniques, materials, and tooling
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
