MACHINIST

Our client in the Manufacturing Industry and based in the Alrode (Alberton) area is looking for a qualified artisan with experience in the Engineering Industry with the following: Operate shop equipment to produce machined parts that conform to customer requirements, engineering prints and/ or specifications in a proficient and timely manner. Qualification & Experience

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• N2- N3 with trade test certificate
• Driver’s License
• Afrikaans reading, writing, speaking proficiency
• 2 years’ experience in a light to heavy machine shop environment, and on NC Machines in an Manufacturing environment
• Computer literate with experience of MS office suite

Key performance areas:

• Must be able to work a lathe, milling machine and HBM will be an added advantage
• Maintain acceptable reject, scrap rates, and production rates
• Must have extensive knowledge in the selection and use of cutting tools.
• General maintain of all machines daily
• Responsible for reporting any and all dimensions that are out of tolerance to supervisor
• Responsible for checking gauges and hand tools in and out of store room correctly
• Assist in training new employee/ apprenticeship
• Responsible for correctly completing daily time records
• Must follow all safety rules and company policies
• Responsible for cleaning machines and area prior to leaving each day
• Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
• Know and understand Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Work Place Instructions
• Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job and ad hoc duties
• Highly motivated, well organized and strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, manuals
• Understand and comply with all Safety and Quality requirements and Company policies and procedures.
• Time keeping skills
