Production Planner

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to join our team. The Production Planner will play a critical role in coordinating and optimizing production processes to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing of steel products. This role requires a keen understanding of production planning principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

 
Key Responsibilities:

• Issuing Job Cards: Generate and issue job cards detailing production schedules, specifications, and requirements for each order. Ensure that job cards accurately reflect the production plan and any specific instructions from clients or management.
• Assigning Production Duties: Coordinate with production supervisors and team leaders to assign production duties to team members based on skill level, workload, and production priorities. Monitor and adjust assignments as needed to optimize productivity and meet deadlines.
• Overseeing Production Process: Act as a central point of contact for all production-related inquiries and issues. Monitor the progress of production activities, identify potential bottlenecks or delays, and implement solutions to ensure smooth operations and adherence to schedule.
• Ensuring Stock Availability: Work closely with the procurement team to maintain adequate levels of raw materials, components, and supplies required for production. Anticipate material requirements based on production schedules and coordinate timely procurement to avoid shortages or disruptions.
• Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain production plans and schedules in accordance with demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints. Continuously analyze production data and performance metrics to optimize scheduling and resource utilization.
• Quality Control: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that production processes comply with quality standards and specifications. Conduct regular inspections of production facilities and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job cards, production reports, and inventory records. Prepare regular reports summarizing production performance, resource utilization, and any issues or deviations from the plan.

  Qualifications:

• Diploma in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in production planning or scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of steel manufacturing processes being a plus.
• Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in planning and execution.
