Job Description - Area Manager Sales and Marketing

Work with the Marketing Director and GM of Sales to service our client base from a sales / marketing and relationship basis.  Must come from the Hospitality and Tourism Industry.

At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Regular Sales visits and training to domestic and international clients both in-person and online.

Manage email correspondence to fulfil Trade Relations obligations.

Assist reservations as and when required with client information, general information, and market

insight.

Assist with quoting where required.

Determine applicable STO Rates and issue STO contracts in consultation with the GM of Sales.

Database building and maintenance.

Source new clients and build and strengthen relationships with existing clients.

Assist as back-up to colleagues when required.

Attend domestic and international trade shows.

International and domestic sales trips with the focus on Gauteng, the Western-Cape and KZN, India,

South-East Asia, The Far-East and the UK.

Plan and budget market specific sales missions.

Service the local DMC Market with regular sales trips to key regions.

Work with the Marketing Assistant / Area Manager to schedule and manage meetings and travel

plans.

Keep record of previous sales trips for reference for future trips.

Load sales trip information on OneNote for record keeping.

Regular verbal and written feedback on activities and objectives set and achieved.

Attend applicable trade shows.

Follow ups after trade shows and action where needed.

Perform Database capturing for data received from trade shows in conjunction with the Marketing Assistant / Area Manager.

Plan and budget for hosted educationals in conjunction with the GM of Sales and Marketing Director.

Host educationals where possible.

Arrange and facilitate international and domestic educational requests in conjunction with GM Sales / Marketing Director.

Work in conjunction with the Marketing Assistant / Area Manager and GM of Sales on memos and comp forms / General administration of educationals.

Attend weekly memo meetings

  • Keep records of activities.
  • Monthly credit card reconciliation.
  • Attend weekly Marketing Meetings.
  • Submit mileage claims on time.
  • Assist with administration tasks for the Marketing Director and GM of Sales as required.

Manage email correspondence to fulfil Trade Relations obligations

  • Liaise with reservations, finance, and lodge departments on a regular basis.
  • Ensure smooth cooperation between HO and the Bush operations.
  • Attend to any issues / complaints and complements with regards to Reservations. 
  • Assist in finding and clearing space where possible.
  • Assist finance with chasing outstanding payments etc.
